Carbon Copy
Cc stands for carbon copy and is used to send an exact copy of the email to another user for their reference. But, remember: the "To" box is who the email was originally intended for; the user in the Cc box will recieve the same email for their information. An instance when this may occur is detentions. Mr. Morris may send out an email regarding a student in their class, explaining how they will have a detention. The email would be addressed to the student, however their tutor may have been sent a copy through Cc.
Blind Carbon Copy
Bcc stands for Blind Carbon Copy and works the same way as Carbon Copy; without the person in the "To" box to know the interaction was going on. So, the sender sends an email to their partner in a project and their name would be in "To" box. Another person in the group is sent a copy of the email in Cc, so they know how much work they did. The two users know each other have received the email. But, when the sender adds another recipient with Blind Carbon Copy, the other two people dont know and are theoretically blind.
